Banda afroreggae fundada en 2008 por el guitarrista y cantante keniano Denis Inyani y el bajista español Ran Pérez que siguen siendo la columna vertebral del proyecto, completando esta junto con Ivan Frydlewsky (guitarra) y Rafael Fernández (bateria), a los que a menudo se suman Juanito Trama (djembe) y Eugenio Pérez (trompeta) entre otros. El nombre de Shakatribe procede de los Shaka, una tribu guerrera de Sudáfrica que combatió el colonialismo inglés. La banda no renuncia al reggae tradicional, pero se atreve con otros estilos como el rock y el ska. Su repertorio incluye versiones y temas propios ,y su cantante, Denis, incluye algunas canciones en swahili, su lengua nativa. En el 2012 publicaron su disco “Here We Are” que se puede escuchar en distintas plataformas de streaming. Su música y la constante interacción con el público empuja siempre a bailar.
Afroreggae band founded in 2008 by the Kenyan guitarist and singer Denis Inyani and the Spanish bassist Ran Pérez who continue to be the backbone of the project, completing it together with Ivan Frydlewsky (guitar) and Rafael Fernández (drums), who are often referred to as they add Juanito Trama (djembe) and Eugenio Pérez (trumpet) among others. The Shakatribe name comes from the Shaka, a warrior tribe from South Africa who fought against English colonialism. The band does not renounce traditional reggae but dares with other styles such as rock and ska. His repertoire includes covers and his own songs, and his singer, Denis, includes some songs in Swahili, his native language. In 2012 they released their album “Here We Are” which can be heard on different streaming platforms. His music and constant interaction with the public always push you to dance.
